Getting started with brasio

Also known as: initial configuration, getting started, first day, setup, onboarding, first steps.

When you receive the welcome email, your venue has already been set up. All that’s left to do is: register your team, set up the menu, and connect the kitchen printer. Everything is done from the venue’s terminal — you don’t need a separate computer.

Would you prefer to watch a video? On the brasio.io homepage, there’s a short 30-second video and, just below that, a comprehensive 2-minute tour covering all the features (orders, kitchen display, bookings, HACCP, payments and Veri*factu).

1. Create your first employee

  1. On the terminal, tap Admin (cog icon, bottom corner).
  2. Log in using the PIN you received by post. Change it to something you’ll remember.
  3. Staff → New staff member. Enter a name, a 4-digit PIN and a role (waiter / bar / kitchen).

The PIN is the only thing each staff member uses to clock in for a shift. There is no username or password.

2. Set up the menu

If you sent us your menu before starting, you’ll already see it under Admin → Products. If not:

  1. Admin → Categories → New. Create, for example, Kitchen, Drinks, Wines.
  2. Admin → Products → New. Name, price, category, VAT. If you sell the same product in different sizes (small, medium, large), create a Sizes group.
  3. For dishes with extras (gluten-free, lactose-free, meat doneness) use Modifiers. Read Modifiers: options and required fields.

3. Connect the kitchen printer

brasio prints kitchen tickets on any 80 mm thermal printer with an IP address on the restaurant’s local network. See Connecting a thermal printer for a step-by-step guide using the Epson TM-T20.

Stuck?
